GWR Single Spagnolletti Block Instrument It sems a bargain time just now. We picked up this little GWR single 'Spag' block a few days ago. Probably off a joint line as it has a non conventional style 'Dn block' plate attached, plus it still retains it's original GWR 'bobin' lightning conductor. Most of these blocks have the 'push in' type lightning conductor. This one survives un modified but has 'paid the price' for being 'away' from home so to speak. The flag 'swings' free. Not the best we've had but just look at the price......... |

GWR Key token 'Barnstaple B' Just in stock this lovely Gem. Complete with original end fitted too. These tokens are very popular on this line. Our example is in original 'as removed' condition from the box years ago. What else can I say? An excellent Railway Relic from this classic line.... |

GWR post grouping 'Flat Top' Block Bell Another splendid GWR block bell brought back from one of our boxes. This example being a 'Flat Top' version and in lovely condition too. All coils tested OK Sir. All you need is a 4.5V battery to ring it on your shelf. This example has matching side screws which is nice. All in all a very nice example. The 'flat top' bells along with 'sheep dome' are my favorite combination of bells..... |

GWR Water Tank level indicator This is more like it boys... "Yes LineMan. Mr Gifford sent this down to you. Only trouble is we've not got any water tanks left"....
Not to worry Charlie. Let's ave-em ere... These water tank indicators are seldom seen on the market. This example is in lovely ex box condition with a 'free flag' and still retains it's ivorine label, "Water Tank" which compliments the instrument well. Were these used in Signal boxes? Or was it placed in a hut with a pump of some sort to pump up the water to the tank? This instrument presumably worked on a float system? Perhaps you can tell us more................Grab this gem for your collection... |

LSWR Box to Box Telephone Just taken out of use and available to you is this lovely old LSWR box to box telephone. This example still retains BOTH ear pieces (Sometimes one is missing) plus the attractive enamel plates giving instructions for ringing. The mouth piece is undamaged and in very good condition too which makes a welcome change. These lovely telephones were made mostly by 'Ericsons' and sold to the LSWR. They were also used on the S&DJR and if you have a copy of the BTF 'Single Line Working' you can see them in use! I wish I could go back in time and ring all those closed boxes on this old phone don't you? |

Sykes Block Bell (Southern Railway) Here's one for you. A Sykes Block Bell. This type of block bell is used with the Sykes Lock n Block instruments you find on both the LSWR and SER. The bonus is that it still retains it's little round 'Sykes' maker's plate. It Sounds good too with a lovely loud ring. A very nice example indeed Sir............... |

Leather/metal handle Token pouch Leather Token pouch. Well, I'm at a loss to say what railway these were used? Someone has told me SR but I havn't seen any in use have you? As you can see these token pouches are absolutely solid as a rock with a heavy 'grab' handle on top. Solid thick leather, they are nearly bomb proof! What else can the lineman say other than you'll never need to buy another one in your life time............. |

GWR ETS Block Gong What a piece? GWR Block Gongs are rare indeed! This version being the electric Train Staff version even rarer still. Some time in the past, it has lost it's top 'sounding box'. This being a 3 sided box that fits onto the top beading secured by screws. Someone obviously thought it wasn't needed and removed it! Still, Tyer and Co did not fit their gongs with such novelties! It is in super condition too. You'd better send your reservation as soon as you can Sir or you'll be buying the bell!! |

Two minute delay switch These are rare Sir...... It is the first I'ver ever seen although I've turned enough of the later variety in the box! We've all done it. Test the Block Instruments after switching in then what? You turn that horrible round switch from N to N. Two minutes it will take you!! Well here is a design that you can use in comfort. Just turn the wheel, sing 'Britainnia' and wait until you get to 'release'.....Then presumably you carry on to 'Normal'? Perhaps these were used as some sort of back lock? It is a rare Instrument what ever it did! I like it. |
